The Electric Vehicle Home Charge Scheme (EVHS)
Did you know that you may be eligible to receive funding for the installation of your Electric Vehicle Charging Point? The UK government-funded Electric Vehicle Home Charge Scheme (EVHS) provides grants for the installation of home charge points. The grant is set as a 75% contribution to the cost of one charger point and the installation. Whilst the cap is set at £350 (including VAT) per installation, you can apply for two chargepoints at the same property if you have two qualifying vehicles. The main criteria is that you own, lease or have ordered a qualifying vehicle and that you have dedicated off-street parking at your property.
How does it work?
As part of the grant, the customer is required to choose an EVHS installer – such as Heath Electrical Specialists – to install their chargepoint. We would then check you meet the criteria to qualify and apply on your behalf. You’d then be billed for the price of the installation minus the grant amount applied for. Upon successful application, Heath Electrical Specialists would be paid the grant amount that was off-set from your bill. Claims for experienced installers are expected to be processed by OLEV within 30 working days. As an OLEV approved installer, we can provide access to the grant scheme, making a very attractive investment for any of our customers. As well as handling all paperwork when applying for the grant, we’ll also notify your local electrical provider and building authority of the installation.
