We collaborated with a Birmingham-based manufacturer in the relocation of existing line manufacturing equipment. In addition, they also required the installation of a new hydraulic lifter. Prior to beginning any work, Heath Electrical Specialists always carry out a detailed survey to assess the job at hand. We value the importance of paying attention to detail, therefore we undertook a detailed analysis of the site. This involved walking around the area with the client and discussing the new layout of the manufacturing line. It was critical that this was executed correctly in order to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing process. Furthermore, it would also need to allow enough room for the new hydraulic lifter.
As a result, design work went underway. Importance was placed on taking into careful consideration the need for the electrical installation to meet regulations, as well as the client’s needs. We also had to factor in the necessary downtime required and mitigate any risk to the client. With it being a 24-hour operational line, any outage would need to be minimal. Of course, this required close liaison with the client to agree a suitable time to perform the works.

With everything set and in place, we were ready to deliver the project. First of all, our team of highly-trained electrical experts powered down the line and, when safe to do so, disconnected the existing feeds. Individual machinery was then carefully relocated while new power feeds and local isolation points were installed. We ensured that all new circuits were rigorously tested and inspected in order to ensure they met our high standards and expectations. The same actions were taken with the machinery; commissioning and testing it before declaring it ready for operation.
With the first phase of delivery complete, attention then turned to the hydraulic lift. The new cabling to this equipment was installed and connected to the local power distribution board at the supply end and an isolator at the lifter end. Upon receiving delivery of the plant onsite, it was moved carefully to the required location. Heath Electrical Specialists connected the hydraulic lifter to the newly installed isolator, before again undertaking rigorous examination. We work to very high standards, therefore both the circuit and the lifter were tested, inspected and commissioned against strict criteria.
